Physician Physical
A critical step in identifying your current state of health and fitness, all Infinity Life™ clients who choose to take part in medical testing will begin by meeting with an Infinity Life™ consulting physician for an introductory physical (as mentioned above). This will determine the delivery of some of the testing provided. If a client has a family history of illness and shows signs that classify him or her as ‘high risk’, cardiovascular testing may be modified accordingly.
Advanced Blood Testing
Our specialized blood testing profiles examine the critical biological markers and hormones that are directly affected by nutrition, exercise, and stress management. This will give us the ability to create an individualized program targeting any challenges you may have, which will also allow us to track your progress over time.
Body Composition
DEXA (Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) is a testing method that uses a whole body scanner that implements two low dose x-rays at different sources to read bone and soft tissue mass simultaneously. A safe and noninvasive procedure with little burden to the individual, DEXA is both easy to use and is proven to be one of the most accurate methods of determining body composition.
VO2 Max Cardiovascular Assessment
Determined by measuring your oxygen input and carbon dioxide output while exercising, a VO2 Max Cardiovascular Assessment monitors how effectively your heart works in tandem to your major muscle groups. The more physically adept you become, your maximum oxygen uptake increases. Similarly, aerobic fitness indicates how well your cardiovascular system works in the transportation and utilization of oxygen in your body.
In essence: the better your aerobic fitness, the higher your VO2Max will become. According to the latest research, V02Max and the risk of heart failure are intimately correlated, which makes this particular assessment an excellent predictor of heart-disease risk.
Metabolic Rate Analysis
Similar to your “Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR),” this test will measure your resting metabolic rate, which determines the number of calories your body would burn if you did nothing more than sit in a chair all day long. Moreover, this test will also calculate how many calories your body actually burns throughout the day.
Most importantly however, it will inform us how many calories you need to safely lose, maintain, or gain weight. Based on your individual results, we will then create an specialized program that regulates to the kinds of foods you should eat, portion sizes, and appropriate meal frequency in order to achieve your ideal body and weight in healthy sustainable ways.
Bone Density Testing:
DEXA (Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry), as mentioned above, is a relatively new but extremely accurate technology. Based on a three-compartment model that divides the body into total body mineral, fat-free soft (or lean) body mass, and fat tissue mass, DEXA will not only help us determine the condition of your bones, but also give a precise reading of your body composition.
